2 years, together.

If you had of told me two years ago that I would be getting married to you 25 months after our first date, I wouldn't have believed you. I probably would have laughed. Fierce young independence me? Married?

Funny (and fantastic), the difference these 730 days of loving, learning, growing and being with you have made. Today, I can't imagine not being married to you.

What a life.

What a love.

Why so quiet?

It's been a summer of silence here on the old spark blog.

There are a couple reasons for that, first off, there hasn't been much to report. This summer has been a big mess of event planning at work, wedding planning at home, and not much "summer fun" in that classic sense. Secondly, the exciting, report worthy things that have taken place this summer, are all wedding related and I wanna keep 'em a secret for now.

But I feel bad for having left you hanging. So, I present to you a mega photo heavy post look at what my summer was like:

Went to LA for a wedding.
Burbank

Saw some fancy music notes painted on a building in MN while there for a conference.
The best mural in MN

Studied hard, and received an astoundingly average score on the GRE.(...Perhaps studying without the beer would have been more helpful.)

Had the car window replaced after a break in. (I was pretty please with my temp repair. Note the fantastic neon green tape.)
My ghetto handy craft

Went to the SF Gay Pride festival which was extra exciting this year since Gay Marriage became legal. I felt proud of California.

Spent time with some adorable munchkins.

Saw the Jesus and Mary Chain.

Lovingly tormented the cat.

This guy did the most amazing thing this summer... he took his board exams and became a Registered Nurse. I am SO friggin' PROUD!!
Oscar & Squigs

And then we rallied friends to celebrate his achievements in the park, with sunglasses and beer.

That was about it folks. It's pretty much like you were there. I am thrilled about the upcoming fall. The wedding is barely a month away and there is lots of scurrying to be done, but I am really looking forward to the day, the loved ones, and the sense of calm that I hope will return to my life after the event.

Meanwhile, much to look forward to, much to be done.

The kindness of strangers

The kindness of strangers

I didn't realize that I had lost my keys until a woman named April called from the public library to say that someone had found them on the street. This kind person saw that I had a library card on my key ring, and turned them in. The library was able to look up my info and call me. Thanks stranger!
